This is a CED videodisc release. CED stands for Capacitance Electronic Disc. It is a different technology than a laserdisc, requiring a separate player that functions similarly to a record player with a needle. Each disc is encased in a caddy, and the entire caddy is placed into the player, which will remove the disc and play it while ejecting the caddy. RCA marketed the players beginning in 1981, and CED discs (about 1,700 titles) were marketed through 1986 | |
